Marc Morandi created a bottle of wine in homage to his deceased son
Papa of a recently disappeared multiplied son, the Vaudois deputy imagined a Chasselas whose sale makes it possible to pay five francs to the Cerebral Vaud association.
In a week and only thanks to word of mouth, the deputy of Féchy Marc Morandi had already collected 200 francs of donations.

Among the many wine bottles aligned in the cellar of Marc Morandi, a newcomer has a very special meaning in his eyes. This is the “deputy reserve”, carried out with its neighbors and friends Alain and Laurie Bettems, of the Crausaz cellar in Féchy.
“The idea came to us during the last harvest,” explains the one who has been sitting on the Grand Council of Vaud since 2022, in the PLR ranks. We wanted something that comes out a bit of the ordinary to support a cause that has been personally to our hearts for a very long time. ”
The project materialized in early July. Meanwhile, he has taken on a completely different meaning due to the death, at almost 32, of David Morandi, the son of the deputy. “He was born a polyhandicapped and was known as the white wolf in the village,” smiles his dad. We have never hidden it, neither him nor his handicap – quite the contrary! He was our star, he loved people. And when he died last May, we received between 500 and 600 support words. ”
Fast support for Féchy and beyond
Relatives of David Morandi and their acolytes decided that for each bottle of Grand Cru Chasselas sold (directly at the cellar, at the Auberge de Féchy or with its instigator), five francs would be donated to the association Cerebral Vaud. In one week, no less than 200 francs were collected. “There was a great craze, salutes the Fezzolan. Especially that we haven’t advertised so far, so it was only thanks to word of mouth! ”
The CAP of 200 bottles – and therefore of the thousand francs of donations – has just been exceeded. What to rejoice Marc Morandi: “It is always through someone you know that you have a wider heart,” he believes. It reminds us that some people do not experience the same thing as us. ”
Disability, increasingly complex cases
“M. Morandi has long been an important member of the association and this bottle has been both beautiful and original, ”enthuses Janine Rod. Member of the committee since 2010 and co -chair of Cerebral Vaud since 2017, she describes increasingly complex cases, which require attention and therefore increased means. “Some beneficiaries are accompanied by two people at a time, others need assistance almost 24 hours a day.”
The association has 290 active members, supports people with cerebral paralysis and their loved ones. She notably organizes a dozen holiday camps per year at her inn Montpreveyres (VD). In recent weeks, the beneficiaries have been able to indulge in the joys of karting or kayak.
The bottles are made by the Bettems family, a stone’s throw from Marc Morandi’s home.

For his part, Marc Morandi stresses that there is no mercantile intention, even less political, behind the creation and promotion this “deputy reserve”. Which has for modest ambition only to bring “a small stone to the building”. “Each donation is really good to take, because everything is very expensive, and disability insurance does not cover all costs,” he explains. It is an incredible parallel world. David was staying at the Salt Foundation in Cugy, and returned home on weekends. We wanted to make the ceremony there because there was his closest friends. And it was a very poignant moment. ”
Life, precisely, continues somehow for Marc Morandi, his wife Irene and their daughter Céline. “There will be more delicate moments … like the harvest period, precisely when I often took it to the vineyards. But it is also a release for David, which was locked in his body. Above all, we must remember all the good times we have spent with him. ”
