The former manager of the digital transition of the Quebec Automobile Insurance Company (SAAQ), Karl Malenfant, had asked that the SAAQ assumes full legal costs linked to his testimony before the Gallant Commission. Rather, he will have to be satisfied with a sum of $ 125,000.
In the appeal he filed last July to the Commission of the Public Service, Mr. Malenfant challenged this limit of $ 125,000 imposed by his former employer for the reimbursement of lawyers linked to his testimony within the framework of the public inquiry on what is commonly called the Saaqclic fiasco.
According to him, the Saaq should reimburse these costs in full. But, in a decision rendered on Monday, the Commission of the Public Service concluded that it did not have the competence to decide on the issue.
