Five arrests after a brigandage to the Brenets (ne)

Neuchâtel police arrested five individuals on Wednesday in connection with a briganding attempt in a company in the Brenets. One of them threatened an employee with an object resembling a handgun to be handed over.

(Keystone-ATS) Not achieving his ends, the individual then fled with his accomplices, said the Neuchâtel police (PN). The alarm given allowed the arrest in the Col-France by the agents of the Federal Office of Border Security (OFDF) of five people in total, the press release said.

Individuals entered a company around 6:40 am. The alarm was quickly triggered by employees via emergency numbers. An important police device has been deployed. The responsiveness of OFDF agents allowed the arrests while trying to cross the border aboard a vehicle.

Two minors

The checks have established that the vehicle used had been stolen from French territory, according to PN. The people arrested are young men: four French nationals and a Moroccan national, all domiciled in France, in the regions of Lyon and the Center-West. Two of them are minors.

The first elements of the investigation made it possible to link them to the attempted brigandage, the press release continued. They were all placed in police custody, as part of the current procedure. The permanence prosecutor opened a criminal instruction, in collaboration with the minors’ judge.

The operation mobilized several gendarmerie patrols, investigators and investigators from the judicial police, as well as OFDF agents.
