Images shared from Lévis on social networks showed completely flooded streets, and even a section of the Submerged highway 20. Over 40 mm of rain fell in places in just a few hours, according to preliminary data.
Several people have also published images of flooded basements.
Evacuations in Quebec
In Quebec, Chemin du Foulon, located at the river level, was covered with several centimeters of water, making traffic impossible. Residents of the sector had to be evacuated by emergency services, with the help of a team specializing in nautical rescue.
The authorities recommend caution, in particular by avoiding flooded areas, whether on foot or by car.
