As the little Leah Lendel was violently attacked by a tax shark, on June 11 in Boca Grande (Florida), three workers who were taking their break rushed to come to her aid, putting their own life in danger. Among them, Luis Alvarez, a 31 -year -old Nicaraguan. Three days after his act of bravery, the 30 -year -old was arrested behind the wheel of his car in Immokalee, because he was driving without headlights.
When the police realized that the motorist did not have a driving license, they arrested him and placed him in police custody. According to Fox 4, the man is now in the hands of the American immigration services (ICE) and risks being expelled from the United States. A spokesman for the authorities told “people” that Luis Alvarez had illegally entered the country in December 2022. Nicaraguan was in possession of an authorization to work, but that was not enough to avoid his imprisonment.
“He is really a good man, he is very family,” says Raynel Lugo, one of his colleagues present on the day of the shark attack. According to the worker, Luis was the first to throw himself into the ocean by seeing the 9 -year -old girl in great danger: “He had gone underwater, without worrying about the shark. He went really deep. He probably found himself in front of the animal, ”says his colleague. Luis Alvarez must be presented to a court on July 9. His deposit was set at $ 150.
