Football: the gesture full of generosity and pato compassion

Whether in the field or outside, Alexandre Pato is capable of high class gestures. The neo-retired, which had had no club since its furtive passage to Sao Paulo between May 2003 and January 2004, suddenly finds itself under the spotlight.

The reason? The former Brazilian AC Milan striker, also passed by Chelsea during his career, proposed to finance the repatriation of the body of his compatriot Juliana, announces the “National World”. The latter, then aged 26, died a dozen days on the island of Lombok, in Indonesia.

The drama occurred while the young woman hiked on Mount Rinjani. Drone images have shown that the unhappy one had a 600 -meter fall, before being stuck – but alive – in a crevasse. Unable to extricate from the trap, Juliana perished on the spot despite the rescue operation put in place to try to save her.

The rescue operation was complicated due to unfavorable weather conditions and equipment problems. The emergency services ended up reaching the lifeless body four days after the fall. This period is pointed out by the family of the victim, who accuses the negligence authorities and who holds the latter responsible for the death of Juliana.

The repatriation of the body of the young woman of Indonesia in Brazil, in the city of Niteroi where the family resides, is extremely expensive. Returning to the ears of Alexandre Pato, this tragedy visibly touched the former striker of the Seleção (27 selections, 10 goals). The latter then proposed to settle the more than 14,000 Swiss francs of return costs. He is now awaiting a response from the victim’s father, whom he contacted to offer him his help.
