Sigma presented this Tuesday two new objectives with a particularly luminous fixed focal length, the Sigma 200 mm f/2 DG OS Sports and the Sigma 12 mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary.
This Tuesday, it is not one, but two new photo objectives that were officially presented by Sigma.

Photo lenses: Understanding everything about the different optics for your camera
The Japanese optician has indeed unveiled two new fixed focal lectures intended for very different uses, the Sigma 200 mm f/2 DG OS Sports and the Sigma 12 mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary.
An ideal telephoto lens for portrait photos
The first of these two objectives, the Sigma 200 mm f/2 DG OS Sports is, as its name suggests, a telephoto length with a focal length of 200 mm and, above all, a large opening of f/2. Until now, to enjoy a 200mm focal length, it was generally necessary to opt for a 70-200 mm zoom with a limited opening to f/2.8. Here, we will therefore be able to win an IL of exhibition by going from f/2.8 to f/2, while further reducing the depth of field to better identify the subject.
The objective will be particularly suitable for portrait photos, but also to certain sports photos, even to short -distance animal photo.
On the optical design side, the objective offers 19 elements divided into 14 groups, a diaphragm with 11 strips, an autofocus engine and optical stabilization. The minimum focusing distance is also announced at 170 cm for a magnification ratio of X0.13.
A high-angle luminous lens for APS-C devices
For its part, the Sigma 12 mm f/1.4 DC contemporary is more intended for the photo of landscape, architecture or astrophotography.
This time this is an optics designed for cameras with APS-C sensor, so we are entitled to an 18 mm equivalent in Full Frame format, but with a large focal opening of F/1.4 which should make it possible to capture more light.
The objective is particularly compact, with a weight of 225 grams, and composed of 14 elements divided into 12 groups with a diaphragm with 9 strips.
For the minimum focusing distance, count on 17.2 cm, a maximum magnification factor of x0.12. Obviously, there is also an autofocus engine, but no stabilization.
Price and availability of new SIGMA objectives
The two new Sigma optics are already available for pre -order and will be delivered from September 4.
The Sigma 12 mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary will be offered at 599 euros in Sony E mount, Fujifilm X and Canon RF.
For its part, the Sigma 200 mm f/2 DG OS Sports is displayed at 3,499 euros and offered in Sony E and Leica L mount (for Leica, Panasonic and Sigma devices).
