Almost perfect final – Among the 22 people arrested on Sunday on the sidelines of the last stage of the Tour de France 2025 in Paris, four were for jets of nails in the famous rue Lepic
Despite delicate weather conditions, the new Montmartre version of the Tour de France was a frank success on Sunday. Packed by this great first, just like their counterparts of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games before them, the organizers of the Grande Loop quickly confirmed wanting to perpetuate this winning formula. Between popular jubilation and epic fighting opposing Tadej Pogacar to Wout van Aert, there were all the ingredients of a much more exciting epilogue than this eternal finish in the sprint on the Champs-Elysées.
But we learned on Monday, via The Parisianthat 22 arrests were still carried out on the sidelines of this 21st stage of the Tour. The reasons for these arrests are diverse, between participation in a group with a view to committing degradations or violence, voluntary violence committed on a person depositary of the public authority, outrage, the port of prohibited weapon or participation in a prohibited demonstration.

Finally, four spectators were also arrested for jets of nails in the famous rue Lepic, before the passage of the runners. This could clearly have disrupted this last long-awaited step between Mantes-la-Ville and Paris. Fortunately it was nothing, and the 18th arrondissement was particularly in a celebration for the three climbs of the Butte Montmartre.
