France dates back 4 places in the world ranking, Spain seizes the throne

The FIFA Women’s world ranking was updated this August 7. Quite logically, France recovers positions, despite its elimination in quarters of the euro.

Small satisfaction. After a European championship stopped in the quarterfinals, France learned on August 7 that it recovered points and places in the world ranking. A ranking that has moved a lot compared to the previous one, with the consequences of summer international tournaments.

Even if Spain has lost the final (on penalties), it earns 32.45 points and exceeds … for barely one point, the United States at the top of the world ranking. England, European champion, has only a place, less than Sweden, which it has eliminated in quarters of the Euro on penalties.

The Swedes, who notably defeated 4-1 Germany, take 36 points and rise in 3rd place, winning 3 positions. Still in Europe, France is experiencing the best progression from the top of the table, winning 4 positions and settling in 6th place. Good news for the next draws and deadlines, due to success against England at the Euro or against Brazil in preparation.

A result that will be confirmed against the Germans during the League of Female Nations. Germany is just ahead of France, in 5th place.

Brazil goes from 4th to 7th place, a rather surprising result in view of their success in Copa America but which is explained in particular … by their defeat against the Blue. The greatest development, all selections combined, is to be credited from Bangladesh, which qualified for the Asian Cup and registered 80.51 points. On the Africa side, Nigeria, champion of the continental cup, does not gain space in the board and remains 36th. It is worse for the finalist, Morocco, which backs up 4 rows and emerges in 64th position.
