• Budget 2028-2034: 150 billion euros for energy and climate : The European Commission proposed its budget for the period 2028-2034, allocating more than 150 billion euros to energy and climate. This budget marks the return of funding for nuclear power and will be partly fueled by carbon market revenues, up to 11 billion euros per year. More info
• Air conditioning: Italy, European consumer champion : Italy is the largest consumer of electricity for air conditioning in the EU, representing a third of total use, followed by Spain, France and Greece. This trend, linked to heat wave and aging, however represents only 0.6 % of the electricity consumption of European households. More info

• Panne in Tours: Enedis will compensate the affected homes : Following the giant July 2 electricity failure which assigned 5,000 households in Tours, Enedis announced compensation. It will amount to € 2 excl. Tax per kVA of power subscribed by five hours of cut. More info
• The electricity coefficient soon lowered : The government launched a public consultation (until August 5) on a draft decree aimed at lowering the primary energy coefficient of electricity from 2.3 to 1.9, in order to comply with a European directive and better enhance electricity in thermal regulations. • Energy audit: the rules are cleared for companies : A decree published on July 13 details the new terms for business audits in business, which are compulsory every four years. It supervises the completion of the audits as well as the certification of the competent organizations to carry them out. More info
