Samsung’s next affordable smartphone, the Galaxy A17, has just appeared on Geekbench. Its predecessor, the Galaxy A16A was launched in October 2024, and it therefore seems plausible that the next version was launched on the same date. Regarding specifications, the smartphone may not benefit from a significant update, at least with regard to the SOC.
The Galaxy A17 (SM-A176B) identified here is equipped with an exynos 1330 processor the same as that which equips the Galaxy A14, old of two generations, as confirmed by its two cores Cortex-A78 (2.4 GHz) and its six cores Cortex-A55 (5.0 GHz), as well as an ARM Mali G68 GPU. He obtained scores of 942 and 2,137 in the simple and multicœur tests of Geekbench 6.4.
The first score generally conforms to that of the Exynos 1330, while the second is slightly higher. Finally, the Galaxy A17 sample has a modest 6 GB RAM and is delivered with preinstalled Android 15. We don’t know much about his other updates, but he will be the first of his kind of kind to offer optical image stabilization (OIS) with the main camera sensor.
