Galenica saw her turnover and her profit increase in the first half. The Bernese pharmaceutical group also confirms its forecasts for the whole year and even revises its upward profitability.

(Keystone-ATS) Over the first six months of the year, Galenica’s turnover increased by 5% over one year to 1.99 billion francs, written the operator of pharmacies and drug distributor on Thursday in Bern, in a press release. This growth is due to the high demand for prescription drugs, in particular GLP-1 weight loss products and drugs related to the influenza epidemic at the start of the year.

The operating profit (EBIT) climbed 6.2% to 108.8 million. On an adjusted basis, the EBIT increased by 10.9% to reach 109.9 million.

In the end, net profit was 88.6 million, up 11.8% compared to the same period last year. As for adjusted net profit, it registered at 90.7 million (+16.8%).

The results presented are almost in line with the AWP consensus forecasts. Analysts contacted were tabling on a turnover of 1.99 billion francs and an adjusted Ebit of 109 million. Only net profit, estimated at 86 million, is greater than expectations.

Galenica confirms its forecasts for 2025. Management provides for growth in turnover between 3 and 5%. The dividend should once again reach at least the level of the previous year. Thanks to exceptional positive effects of 5.4 million francs, Galenica now anticipates EBIT growth between 7 and 9%, against a previous forecasting between 4 and 6%.
