At the Fête de la Musique, the real star is the shadow
It was very hot, Saturday afternoon, in the city center. Music musicians sometimes had to be tricky to find a little freshness.
The program of festivities, published by the “Tribune de Genève”, is full of useful information. But he can also act as a hat.

But she does not prevent enthusiasts from enjoying, with family or friends, from the traditional Music festival. It was enough to wander a little to see it.
At the Bastions Parc, for example, a small crowd met to listen to Geneva Irish Trad Session, a traditional Celtic music group. But there are few who dare to risk themselves in front of the scene of reformers. Because the first row is bathed in sun. So, a few meters separate the musicians from their audience who took refuge under the trees. From a distance, we see less but we still hear as well.
At the Saint Antoine walk, Cuban music warms the hearts of those looking for fresh.

The scenes in the shade leave with an advantage. Like the crypt where Dewback, a melodic hardcore group, make some technical settings before starting its concert. Under the trees, children wearing noble helmets, rub shoulders with punk t-shirts and colored hair.
Journal ice cream and hats
By borrowing a bit of the climbing race, we arrive on the Saint Antoine promenade where, there too, it is in the shade that we listen to the music of the Cubans of Santaraneo Cuban Trio. If the mercury slows down the bodies, some spectators dare a few dance steps. Others try to eat ice cream that melts at the same frantic pace as Cuban music.
In the courtyard of the Hôtel-de-Ville, each chair in the shade is a sesame.

Another good address for a little freshness: the courtyard of the Hôtel-de-Ville. Certain chairs, usually subject to the ancestral rule of “first arrival, first served”, are empty. Instead, everyone agglutinates under the passageways, sheltered from the sun, for the Mongifique Orchestra, which revisits Verdi’s music. Some even gave a second life to the weekend program, distributed in the streets, which is used to protect the heads heated by the shelves.
Roller disco in the sun
But where the heat is surely the most stifling, it is in the new square. Large of its road traffic, it now offers to learn Roller Disco, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Helmets, knees and quad rollerblades (i.e. with two wheels in front and two wheels behind), are provided for free.
Under the blazing sun, young and old were invited to roll to the rhythm of disco music.

A retro and good -natured activity that we owe to The Association of Urban Roller (ARU). “It’s really a moment for everyone,” smiles Florian Baudois, from Aru. Adults remember their youth and children discover the freedom offered by the roller skate. ”
On the esplanade, where a vintage car sits whose trunk overflows with facet balls, some adults have lost none of their period practice and twirl under the admiring looks of their cherubs.
If they are still little to dare to brave the heat, Florian Baudois hopes that the curious will arrive later. But to find the freshness of the night, it will be necessary to be patient. Because who says music festival, says summer solstice. So if the day was very hot, it was especially the longest of the year. To the delight of music lovers!
