From Syria to Angoulême
Mohamad and Ahmad al-Hassan are Syrians. In 2011, they flee the war for Lebanon. They spend seven years there but do not have access to school. Very young, they work until they become beekeepers for three years at the end of which they turn to hairstyle. “We had family in the world and we already liked contact with customers,” they say.
They arrive in France in 2018 as political refugees and settle in Burgundy first. “We didn’t speak French,” they say. The youngest goes through the college: “I would have preferred to work. The other students were very nice, they helped me when the language blocked me. »»
At 16, the elder learned French alone on his phone, continues the internships, then won in 2021 learning in the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Charente (CMA) and at JB Coiffure. A course praised last May by the “Exceptional trajectory” price, awarded by the CMA. His little brother joined him at the show a year later, as a second apprentice.

The appointments are still taken by phone or on site. “Not with an application, we want to keep in touch,” slips the future retiree, who always leaves a musical background to accompany his cuts. A “family atmosphere” that the two brothers want to preserve, until the name: JB Coiffure will continue.
