Besides this annual age supplement, parents can claim a school allowance under certain conditions: the family situation and parents’ income must be modest. This allowance is paid automatically if the child is domiciled in Flanders otherwise, it must be asked.
Index Index Index
The increase or decrease in the amount is linked to indexing and the pivotal index. This year, parents will receive a little more than last year.
“The next surpassing the Pivot index should take place in January 2026. Following the measures taken within the framework of the Easter agreement, indexing should be done with a month late compared to usual. We will therefore see the change in April a priori “says Camille’s spokesperson, family allowance fund in Wallonia. On the side of the cabinet of Minister Yves Coppieters (the committed), it is said that the postponement will have no impact on the amount because it is calculated on the scale of the pivot index of this year.
In Brussels, the regional government is in current affairs. “”There is no ambition to change the amount of the age supplement “said the spokesman for the Minister of Finance Sven Gatz (Open VLD).
