Heat wave in several Canada provinces

Some regions of southeast Canada are no longer under a heat warning on Thursday, but a large part of the country will continue to experience scorching temperatures. In Quebec, heat warnings mix with those of violent thunderstorms.

Environment Canada indicates that certain regions of Ontario and Quebec, including Ottawa and Montreal, could experience maximum diurnal temperatures of almost 30 ° C and a humidx index from 35 ° C to 40 ° C.

Several regions of Quebec are also found under a warning or a day before violent thunderstorms, especially in sectors of Outaouais, Mauricie, Center-du-Québec, Montreal and Quebec.

“Conditions are conducive to the formation of dangerous thunderstorms that can produce strong gusts, large hail and torrential rain. There is a sudden flood risk in places, ”you can read on the Canada Environment website.

The heat warning also applies to certain regions of eastern Canada, including a large part of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The south of the Northwest Territories is also under a heat warning, with temperatures up to 30 ° C and minimal night temperatures around 15 ° C.

Some regions of southern Ontario, including Windsor and Toronto, were also under a heat warning, but the meteorological agency lifted it on Thursday morning.

As with any heat warning, it is recommended to be attentive to the first signs of exhaustion due to heat and to take news of your vulnerable relatives in order to ensure their well-being.
