Switzerland is among the first in the most powerful passport ranking established by Henley & Partners, although three additional countries now require a visa compared to 2024.

Always considered one of the most powerful in the world, the Swiss passport allows The free movement of its holders in 187 countries in 2025, against 190 last year. A score that earned him 5e place in the ranking, alongside New Zealand and Greece.

The countries which now require an entry visa for the Swiss compared to last year are: Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Pakistan.

Notable differences in the classification

Based on information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the index granted to each passport is updated twice a year. Switzerland is thus in fifth position for the second consecutive year, after being 7e in 2023 and 6e In 2022.

As in 2024, Singapore dominates the list, with 193 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea in the second row, both with 190 destinations.

The United Kingdom was falling, going from the 4the Place in 2024 with 191 destinations at 6e In 2025 with 186. Another striking decline: that of the United States, classified 7e in 2024 (188 destinations) at 10e This year (182 destinations).

France, on the other hand, remains in the leading peloton: classified first in 2024 with 194 destinations, it is now 3e with 189.
