And if that has not always been the case in the past, the different places have been chosen using a prioritization grid.
At first, we look at the accidentology of the area in the past five years. Then comes the real speed measured at the problematic location. Finally, proximity to sensitive places on the section such as schools, sports centers or hospitals has been put forward.
Here is the location of the 32 sections that will be installed by the end of the year:

As we can observe, we will not find any new radar sections in Walloon Brabant. On the side of the province of Liège, on the other hand, fourteen new speed limitation areas will be installed. The Minister explains this choice. “It takes into account what already exists in the area concerned. This explains why the Walloon Brabant will not receive any radar-tronns this year. There are already on the problematic axes like the N25. My goal is also to ensure that Walloon territory is equipped in a balanced radars.”
