The staff of the free information, screening and diagnostic center (CEGIDD) of Fréjus Saint-Raphaël hospital, under the leadership of Doctor Isabelle Copin, takes care of sexually transmitted diseases, infections by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), viral hepatitis …
The CEGIDD is open on Monday morning, every other Wednesday and Thursday, free of charge and anonymously, by appointment except emergencies, at the secretariat of the center: 04.94.17.79.61. An advanced consultation is carried out at the student house every other Wednesday.
“In 2026, we hope to be able to increase the time of presence and develop actions” outside the walls “, with the Cegidd of Toulon, especially during the festive events of the summer”, said Doctor Copin who also informs about the contraception offer and taking care of unwanted pregnancies: “The condom remains the best way to protect against all sexually transmitted infections (IST) including HIV and is also a means of contraception”.
Free and anonymous welcome
The expert seeks to send important messages: “HIV and other STIs is now possible without a prescription in all medical biology laboratories. Contraception of the next day (up to 5 days after an unprotected report) is still topical and now male and female condoms are accessible in pharmacies for young people up to 25 years. The repeated screening and the treatment of STIs make it possible to reduce the transmission channels”.
Family planning and education center
The midwives of the Raphaëlo-Fréjus Hospital are particularly involved in the Center for Family Planning and Education (CPEF). They support all women, in their choices, welcome them in their abortion request, anonymously, free of charge and without judgment. They receive minors, wishing contraception, or having questions about sexual health.
The midwives approach the couple relationship, consent, prevention and infra-family violence. They are also involved in the screening of addictions, in complete confidentiality, with listening and compassion.
Two midwives, a secretary and a psychologist work safe with gynecologists who ensure surgical abortion.
