Two weeks before the release of Hollow Knight : SilksongTeam Cherry has authorized a prospective look at the post-lap. In an interview with Bloomberg, the co -founders William Pellen and Ari Gibson have suggested that the game, although ready to be delivered, will not be marketed alone: DLC projects are already under study, some of which would be “particularly ambitious” according to Ari Gibson.

The first model Hollow Knightenriched by four free DLC having brought new quests, bosses and balancing, seems clearly to serve as a reference for Silksong. Obviously, no release date or specific content has been mentioned. William Pellen clarified that the after-lapming constituted a stage just as crucial as the release in itself. Ari Gibson for his part confirmed that plans were already stopped for this content, even if some of them could evolve depending on the technical feasibility. Far from being limited to adjustments or simple cosmetic additions, Team Cherry wishes to extend the universe of Pharloom (new territory of Silksong) with a magnitude comparable to that of the extensions of the first game.
The previous episode had thus benefited from four free DLCs, which had added new quests, new bosses and a global rebalancing of the adventure. Silksong seems to follow this same evolutionary logic: rather than a frozen product, Team Cherry envisages a living game, designed to get rich over time and maintain its attractiveness far beyond its initial outing. However, we remain quite surprised by the choice to announce the existence of DLC now, which reflects a desire for unusual transparency for a studio so far renowned for its minimalist communication (yes it is an understatement).
Hollow Knight : Silksong is expected for September 4 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch and Switch 2. It will be available from its launch on the Game Pass.
