A Limburg in fifty years is in detention for having drugged his wife in order to rape her for ten years. The Hasselt Council Chamber extended its arrest last week, reports the daily Het Belang Van Limburg. His lawyer Jan Keulen only confirmed on Saturday that he was currently in preventive detention.
Due to the administration of heavy substances, the woman was not able to consent to sexual acts. The man also took photos of his wife and filmed her when he raped her with different accessories. These visual elements were found on a suspect’s computer medium. He would not have shared them, but severe forms of abuse would be visible. The man, who worked in a banking agency, was arrested at the start of the year and was placed under an arrest warrant by an investigating judge.
The facts would have taken place over a period of about ten years. The man was prescribed drugs on his behalf or initiated knowledge to have prescriptions for the pharmacist. The victim herself began to have suspicion because she always got up very dizzy and often had memory problems. A blood analysis followed during a toxicological examination, which showed that very high concentrations of sleeping pills and sedatives were in his body.
From there, she discovered sexual accessories and other objects at home that she had never seen before. The judicial investigation of the customs police in the local police area Limburg Regio Hoofstad (LRH) is almost finished. Once the criminal investigation is completed, the Hasselt Council Chamber can refer the case to the Hasselt Criminal Court.
