The firefighters of Haute-Garonne intervened on Tuesday night on Wednesday to extinguish a fire which destroyed 34 vehicles near a car garage.
Night agitated in Bérat, city of 3000 inhabitants between Muret and Carbon, south of Toulouse. A fire broke out at 1:20 am on Tuesday night on Wednesday, and destroyed 34 cars adjoining a car garage at 462 route de Toulouse. The intervention of the firefighters made it possible to avoid the spread of flames to the car garage and a pizzeria located nearby.
“I was awakened by the noise of explosions shortly after 1:30,” said The dispatch Valérie Vandon, elected to the town hall of Bérat. “It was very impressive. Only the cars were affected. The car garage and the pizzeria building next to it, have not burned even if the soot has invaded the buildings”. She adds that “everyone was sleeping, so there was no panic movement”.
The origin of the disaster is not yet known.
Two people were slightly injured, after inhaling smoke, but their state of health did not require hospitalization.
