A 40 -year -old man was arrested for attempted murder after his partner was found injured in a Sherbrooke residence on Sunday evening.
The police were called upon to intervene on Suzor-Côté Street around 11 p.m., following the 911 call of a witness who would have attended an argument.
“She claims to have heard the suspect utmost threats, including the phrase” I’m going to kill you “,” said Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS), in a statement.
Upon arrival of the police, the suspect left the residence and was immediately arrested.
Other agents entered the interior and found an injured woman who bore marks of violence in a room.
It would be a case of domestic violence.
“She was transported to the hospital to receive the necessary care,” said the SPS.
His life is not in danger, confirms the spokesperson Benoit Pellerin.
Judicial identity technicians have been dispatched to the site to establish the factual framework of events.
The suspect is expected to face accusations of attempted murder, a serious assault and threats.
