In Saint-Renan, Pegasus puts stars in the curious eyes every Tuesday at the Kerzouar Observatory

For astronomy enthusiasts and all those who always have their heads in the stars, Pegasus, section of the Amicale Laïque de Saint-Renan, organizes vigiles, every Tuesday in July and August 2025 as well as from August 1 to 3, as part of the Nuits des Étoiles. From 9:30 p.m., go to the Kerzouar observatory, in Saint-Renan, to watch the stars, the moon and other objects of space. “We even see comets from time to time,” adds Ronan Perrot, head of the section. On the other hand, we will not be able to observe any planet in the evening right now. We will have to wait until December ”.

A 30 cm diameter telescope

Each week, four or five volunteers from the section, all passionate, will welcome the curious in the observatory. Visitors will be able to use a 30 cm diameter telescope, as well as mobile equipment in the courtyard. It is accessible to everyone. The only condition for an optimal experience: “The sky must be discovered,” explains Ronan Perrot. You have to come according to the weather, because you don’t see anything when there are clouds! ».

For those who prefer to discover the sky during the day, an exhibition has been underway since this weekend of July 19 and 20, 2025 and until September 6, at the Saint-Renan media library. It tells the story of astronomy, from Antiquity to Galileo, with reproductions of instruments.
