In Soleure, 22 people forced to redo their taxes, thrown in the trash by mistake – rts.ch

Twenty-two soleur taxpayers will have to complete and return their tax return for the year 2024. An external firm mandated by the canton eliminated their declaration by mistake in place of the scanner.

The declarations of soleur taxes sent in paper version are normally scanned by a private firm, then eliminated. However, this firm eliminated the declarations of 22 taxpayers working as an indebtedness when they had not yet been scanned, the tax office of the canton of Solure on Wednesday, confirming information from the SRF German-style radio.

The collaboration of the canton with this external service provider had started in 2020. Until then, no incident has been reported, the tax office said. In five years, several hundred thousand tax declarations have been scanned by the company.

The latter was given to order by the canton. It will have to “strongly improve its internal quality controls and implement immediate measures”, adds the Office of Soleur Taxes.
