Darrell Thomas’ latest wishes, 58, came up when a rain of green tickets totaling thousands of dollars swept through pedestrians and cars in Detroit, in the United States.
Mr. Thomas, a well-known local businessman and owner of a car washer, died on June 15 after fighting Alzheimer’s disease, according to information from Global News.
Despite his departure, the man still wanted to cover his community with a last act of generosity.
It is using a helicopter that money as well as rose petals fell from the sky at the end of June, on avenue Gratiot, to finally honor the will of Darrell Thomas.
A video, shot by Crystal Perry, Mr. Thomas’ niece, seems to have been taken from inside a car rolling on the highway, just below the helicopter. We see gusts of banknotes blowing towards the vehicle. People rush to collect them in the middle of the street.
Part of the street was closed for 30 minutes during the operation. People were getting out of their cars to recover ground tickets, which was wanted to be a gift from Mr. Thomas.
A video published on Instagram by the family of the deceased shows cars stopped in the middle of the road and passers -by who applaud while the money floats to the ground.
“Our father would not have wanted him to be otherwise,” we can read in legend.
