The delegations which have been negotiating since July 2 in Bougival (Yvelines) reached a compromise on Saturday providing for the creation of a “state of New Caledonia”, an unprecedented status which must be registered in the Constitution and subject to the population of the archipelago.
On the battery side, two camps which seemed irreconcilable were finally agreed. On the face side, a little corner of France on the other side of the world begins a real jump in the unknown.
