Jil Teichmann (WTA 102) qualified for the quarter -finals of Iasi WTA 250. The Swiss, which won 7-6 6-2 against the Polish Maja Chwalinska (100) in the round of 16, could face the gray Simona Waltert in the next round.
This first duel between the two left -handers turned to the advantage of Jil Teichmann. She experienced a very undecided first set, where each of the players lost her service twice before the Seelandaise took the advantage during the Tie-Break (7/5).
Teichmann then made the hardest and won the first three games in the second set before winning 6-2 on Romanian clay. The native of Barcelona will know Thursday if she will find Simona Waltert, who will face the Spaniard Irene Burillo in the 2nd round.
