Kuwait emir Mechal al-Ahmad al-Sabah will attend the military parade on Monday on the occasion of the French national holiday and will be received to have lunch by President Emmanuel Macron, the French presidency announced on Friday.

The two leaders intend to “intensify their coordination in the face of major regional crises” while Kuwait chairs this year the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States (CCEAG), specifies the Palais de l’ElysĂ©e.

The near and Middle East remains confronted with a multitude of challenges, from the conflict to Gaza to the challenges around Iran after the Israeli and American strikes against its nuclear installations.

The French president is trying to relaunch the process to a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The conference he was to co -spill in June with Saudi Arabia in New York, however, had to be postponed due to the 12 -day war between Israel and Iran.

This visit, the first of the emir in France, also testifies to “the shared will of the two countries to strengthen their cooperation in all areas”, in particular “diplomatic, military and economic”, specifies the French presidency.

Kuwait, cross -border worker of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, contains 7% of the world’s crude reserves. He has one of the most powerful sovereign funds in the world.
