Laurent Bonadei after France – Belgium: “Excessive confidence is the trap that awaits us”

It is a very smiling Laurent Bonadei who appeared in front of the media after the broad success of the Blue against Belgium this June 20 in Valenciennes. Please note, it should not be ignited.

Melvine Malard made a great match, what did you think?

Melvine scored three beautiful goals, plus a refused for off -play which was also magnificent. It is at the conclusion of actions, to collective sequences too. She gave a lot, played on the right side, left side, we know her potential, I am really happy for her.

Melvine is a cheerful player. She always has a smile, with this particularity of being powerful but of having big ability to repeat efforts. She has progressed a lot technically and has a typing force … Right foot, left foot, her head, she has a complete panoply. She is interesting on the side but also in the axis, that is why I had it played the first half against Norway in the League of Nations, she had made a match that I had found coherent but suffered some criticism. Today, it shows all its potential.

What do you remember from this first preparation match?

Already, we finish without injured, it’s important. They have given a lot physically and mentally and physically. It’s a good thing to play this kind of match at this time of preparation, to see where we are at the athletic level.

It was interesting in the content because we set up our possession game. They had very good ball outlets, especially on the left side but overall, we were not too in danger. It is a good omen for the future.

Are you delighted to see your offensive players in this state of form?

It is true that when I had made the selection, I found that we had superb offensive potential. I took seven attackers, and Amel who is quite offensive, not to mention those who stayed at home like Kessya. There are many good French attackers like Viviane Asseyi, Julie Dufour, Naomie Feller … Inevitably, I had a reflection compared to this sector and the desire to play three attackers. We have a lot of variety, we can have speed, we didn’t have Delphine and Sandy tonight.

It is I who will have concerns to make the choices, but if each of them put themselves at the service of the collective and understand that they are not in competition between them but rather in a group, we can have good surprises.

Does the state of Marie-Antoinette Katoto worry you?

I am not at all worried about her, I find that she has done good things tonight, good trips. She was not far from opening the scoring, I asked her to win quite often. What she did. It is gradually rising in power.

Sandy Baltimore was not there, is it worrying?

No way. Sandy follows regular treatment from year to year compared to her knees. We had decided to make her do the first part of the internship so that she was with her partners and a little in the hard and we had planned to give her a little injection in the knee then. She couldn’t be on the match sheet.

What gives you the most satisfaction?

The state of mind, I believe that they take pleasure in playing together, they make the efforts for each other.

Is the match of Oriane Jean-François in recovery is a good point?

A very good point. We have five circles with Sandie, Oriane, Grace, Sakina and Amel Plus Sandy Baltimore, who can also play it. Oriane has a lot of qualities, she was a young player, who had a year of adaptation to Chelsea. It was already followed when I was assistant to Hervé, she was not spared from the injuries she made 90 minutes this evening of good quality.

The current series is good, are you afraid that the team would ignite?

We are there to make sure not to ignite. This gives confidence, which is also good to deploy our game. Afterwards, excess of confidence is the trap that awaits us. I think girls are aware that we have potential. They make a lot of effort, I have not seen any warning signals of a form of sufficiency. This is why it is important to operate a turnover. Whatever the players on the field, the team wins.

The French team is above everything.
