Against Besiktas this Thursday
The Lausanne-Sport plan to avoid a Turkish tide at the Tuilière
Lausanne receives Besiktas this Thursday in the first leg of the play -offs for the conference league. The club hopes for a stadium filled with Vaud supporters.
On August 7, the Lausanne Kop drew a superb tifo for the arrival of the FK Astana to the Tuilière. What does he have for the Vaud public on Thursday against Besiktas?

- The tuilière will welcome the prestigious Turkish club Besiktas next Thursday August.
- A qualification would bring nearly two million francs to the Lausanne club.
- The club maintains its usual prices to promote access to local supporters.
- The ticket office will gradually open according to four separate waves of priority.
The tuiller experienced a slightly sad baptism in 2020. Barely out of the ground, the Lausanne stadium was inaugurated on November 29 against YB in the middle of Covid, in an empty stadium, except for players of course, staff and some masked officials and journalists. Since then, the enclosure has regained its audience of course, and even known its first European chills this season with the coming of the Macedonians of Skopje and Kazakhstans of Astana.

But this Thursday, August 21, 2025, the tuilière will live its real baptism, that of fire and fervor with the arrival of Besiktas. Even if the Lausanne stadium will be deprived of its traditional standing places to meet the standards of the European football authorities, reducing total capacity to 12,000 people seated (544 fewer tickets).
Almost two million in play in this dam
This shock facing the BJK will be of capital importance, and rather twice. First, a leading sporting issue with the possibility of celebrating a return to the final phase of the European Cup expected for 15 years by LS. Then, a huge financial attraction with a bonus of 1.95 million francs paid by UEFA in the event of qualification (for a total envelope of 2.98 million).

And what could be more beautiful than challenging a monument to Turkish football to get there? Besiktas celebrated 16 champion titles in a country where the round ball turns heads and beat the hearts stronger than elsewhere. To peruse it, you just have to see the 4000 spectators of Trabonzspor Attracted in Nyon last April for a final phase of a European tournament… of juniors.
New attractive prices at the tuilière
Lausanne-Sport could have fulfilled at least four times the 12,000 seats of the Tuilière, in particular thanks to a strong Turkish diaspora in Switzerland, but also in neighboring countries and especially in Germany. But the Vaudois leaders anticipated this enticing meeting to allow their supporters to live this moment at the stadium and transform it into “real blue and white cauldron”.
A plan that is available in several stages. The first is linked to the wallet of Vaudois fans. While the LS could have taken advantage of the poster to inflate the prices and replenish its boxes during the transfer window, the Lausanne bodies made an laudable decision. “The club has decided to maintain the championship rates, without exceptional increase, in order to make the event accessible to the greatest number.”
Four waves to avoid the tide of the besiktas
The second step is embodied in an opening by waves of the ticketinglike Lausanne Hockey Club policy during the last play-offs which were taken by storm by the public. “The LS wishes to guarantee its followers and regular visitors to the Tuilière stadium the possibility of attending the match.”
Subscribers for the 2025-2026 season will therefore have priority. From Saturday August 16 at 6 a.m., and for a duration of 24 hours, the latter will benefit from a personal code which will reserve up to four tickets. An exceptional permanence will be open at the Tuilière stadium that day (9 a.m. to noon), but only to help the inserts “not received or cannot access their code”.
After this initial wave, it will be the turn of the “LS+members” on Sunday at 6 am (maximum 4 tickets per person). The “regular buyers” will then follow in the Lausanne-Sport database, with a precious sesame sent on August 17 at noon (there too, no more than four tickets per code).
Finally, it will be the turn of the supporters who were present at the Tuilière to celebrate the victory in the second and third qualification round of the league conference, with an identifier sent on Monday at 6 am. Then only, and if there are still tickets for sale, the rest of the public will be able to access the ticket office.
Lausanne-Sport must invoke the spirit of the 2010 feat
A finely thoughtful strategy that has the merit of honoring lovers of Lausanne-Sport. But it is also the means of avoiding a Turkish tide with the tuilière, that the LS hopes to confine the 900 seats that will dress the visitor sector. “This dam is more than a match: it’s a meeting with history,” promises Lausanne-Sport in its press release.
In 2010, the Vaudoise team which then played in the League challenge had succeeded the unthinkable against the powerful Lokomotiv moscouobtaining its place for the Europa League during the penalty shootout of the return match in Russia. A qualification for the conference league, third European level added in 2021, would have the same range against the stars of Besiktas. A wealthy institution now led by the Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, legend of Manchester United.
Latest example of the Besiktas strike force? The Turkish club is trying to attract another name from the Red Devils this summer: Jadon Sancho. Without success for the moment. But according to Sky de, the Stambouliote team is preparing to put six million euros on the table to buy German talent Taylan Bulut, right side of profession in Schalke in 2. Bundesliga. Targets and figures that certainly make Stéphane Henchoz dream and the Lausanne directorate.

But who knows? With the support of an almost entirely “blue and white” stadium, the LS could make an impression in the first leg, this Thursday, August 21. Date of the baptism of the fire of the tuilière.
