A lifeless person was found on the roof of the Cité-de-la-Santé hospital on Tuesday morning in Laval.
Strong smells that were felt in the cancer unit of the City of Health led to an inspection of the roof of the building, where the body was found by employees.
Laval police were dispatched to the site around 9:35 a.m. Tuesday morning. The death of the victim, a man in his forties, was found on the scene by the police, mentions the spokesperson for the Laval police service, Geneviève Major.
An investigation was opened in the crimes division against the person of the Laval Police Service (SPL), in collaboration with the Coroner office.
In a press release, the Laval Cisss said “fully collaborating with the authorities in order to shed light on this event”. “The safety of users, visitors and staff remains an absolute priority. This event does not compromise the security of care and services offered in the hospital, ”says the CISSS.
