Lille – Nord de France, a territory to discover by bike

For the fifth time since its creation in 1903, the large loop will put its suitcases in Hauts-de-France, and more precisely in the Lille metropolis, for a big departure. After the editions of 1960, 1969, 1994 and 2001, the north of France is preparing to reconnect with one of the highlights of the world cycling calendar, thus confirming its deep attachment to the history of the Tour de France, and more broadly to the culture of cycling. This long -awaited return testifies to the loyalty of the territory to the spirit of cycling: popular, demanding, festive and unifier. On Saturday July 5, 2025, all eyes will turn to Lille, regional capital and European crossroads, which will host the official departure of the 112nd edition of the Tour, in the line of Copenhagen (2022), Bilbao (2023) and Florence (2024). The metropolis will vibrate to the rhythm of the event, becoming for a few days the nerve center of the cycling planet, between popular fervor, sports emotion and major economic and tourist benefits. This exceptional moment embodies much more than a kick -off: it symbolizes the dynamism of a territory which places the bicycle in the heart of its ambitions.
