Mandate of strike of on -board agents: Air Canada reacts

The carrier firmly believes that it remains necessary all the time to conclude an agreement and avoid disturbing the plans of hundreds of thousands of travelers.

In a statement issued yesterday, Air Canada says it takes note of the result of the vote of its on -board agents who grant a mandate to the SCFP, if the company and the union do not reach an agreement within the framework of their current negotiations.

“This vote is part of the normal negotiation process and does not necessarily mean that a disturbance will occur,” recalls the carrier.

Air Canada says it maintains its commitment to the negotiation process and says it is anxious to resume discussions, “that the SCFP has suspended the time for the vote”. Air Canada says it is determined to conclude with the SCFP a fair and fair collective agreement recognizing the contribution of on -board agents and ensuring the business competitiveness and growth of the company.

Air Canada firmly believes that it remains necessary all the time to conclude such a convention and thus avoid disturbing the plans of hundreds of thousands of travelers.

The 21 -day waiting period will end on Saturday August 16 at 0:01 (HE), which means that no work stoppage can take place before this date.

Negotiations are targeting on -board agents working on the main Air Canada operation as well as Red Air Canada.

As a reminder, the on -board agents working in Jazz and Pal, who operate the flights of Air Canada Express, are not affected by negotiations or by the strike vote.
