Mauro Schmid passed very close to the feat during the 11th stage of the Tour de France in Toulouse after 157 km of efforts. But the Zurichois was preceded by a hair by Jonas Abrahamsen.

He only missed a little bit of kick at the end to attend the first Swiss victory on the Tour since 2020 and Marc Hirschi. After the first day of rest, the organizations were recharged for a stage that smiled at the browning attackers.

Mauro Schmid, Jonas Abrahamsen and Davide Ballerini left at the start of the stage, later joined by Fred Wright and Mathieu Burgaudeau. These five men had to resist a group in which there was Mathieu Van der Poel and Wout Van Aert. The Dutchman attacked in the last coast of Pech David for a lonely effort that was not rewarded.

Ben Healy keeps the yellow jersey, while Tadej Pogacar dropped 3.6 km from the finish. Touched by the wheel of another runner, the Slovenian has lost none since the other favorites waited for him.

Thursday, the 12th stage promises a lot with the first arrival in the Pyrenees. The peloton will start from Auch to arrive 180 km later in Hautacam (1519 m) for a climb classified outside category. Before this dish of resistance, the runners will have passed through the Soulor pass (1st) and the Col des Bordères (2nd). This is the seventh time that the Tour has passed through Hautacam. The last time, in 2022, Jonas Vingegaard won more than a minute ahead of Tadej Pogacar.
