Maya Boudreau is one of the youngest athletes to be part of the New Brunswick volleyball team that will represent the province at the Canada Games this summer.
When I learned that I did the New Brunswick team, I was so excited to have the experience of representing my province
she rejoices.
At 17, Maya managed to make her place in the team under 19. She is not intimidated by the situation, she rather sees it as a great opportunity to improve her game.
Being the youngest on the New Brunswick team, it gives me the opportunity to learn from other more old players

The girl of 1.85 meters (6 pi 1 in) is a dynamic player who brings good energy to the team according to her coach.
Maya is a center player. She is a player who takes up space in the field. She has a solid block. It is sure that she will bring good energy to our team. We are really lucky to have it with us others
said Joline Noël, women’s volleyball coach at Moncton University and New Brunswick team for Canada Games.

Joline Noël also participated in the Canada Games as a volleyball athlete in 2009. She understands that it is an important moment for the young girls she trains today.
It is an incomparable experience. Of course it is an experience that you live once in your life. Then you really have to take advantage of every day and compete as much as possible.
This is the message she gives to her young protected this year.
New Brunswick could surprise
Women’s volleyball is growing in New Brunswick. There are several increasingly competitive volleyball clubs in the province.
From year to year, we see teams added to the province, even here at the tournament we do at the University of Moncton. There is always a waiting list, even to the provincials. The number of teams is always increasingly high. Sport really develops

The coach is convinced that the team she has set up will be able to compete with all the provinces.
It is sure that we have a caliber team. We have big girls in our team. We have one of the largest teams that the province has never had. So we have a good chance to compete at the Games
she believes.
Maya Boudreau also believes that she and her teammates could cause a surprise to Newfoundland this year.
Like a smaller province, we are often seen as underdogs And I think we can certainly compete with the biggest teams if you play in a team and communicate. We have our strengths and I think we have our chances
believes the volleyball player.

Maya Boudreau intends to savor every moment of the Canada Games which will take place in August in Saint-Jean, in Newfoundland and Labrador. In September, the girl will be back in class in 12th year at the Odyssée school in Moncton. She intends to continue her sport after her secondary.
I plan to play post -secondary, probably at the University of Moncton.
Joline Noël has been following Maya’s progress for several years already. She is convinced that she will have a good university career.
Universities will have an eye on Maya. She is a caliber player in our region, that’s for sure.
New Brunswick had finished eighth in women’s volleyball at Canada’s last summer games in Niagara in 2022. The province managed to win a bronze-volleyball medal at the 2017 Games in Winnipeg.
