For young hopes, there is always something about what they can work to help them jump in the NHL.
In the case of Michael Hage, he has several qualities, but he could take more muscle mass to help him become an impact center player.
Hage’s offensive skills cannot really be criticized.
He did very well during his recruited season in the NCAA, collecting 34 points in 33 games.
And next year, he will (much) have more support within the team, he who was not super well surrounded this year.
Goalkeeper Jack Ivankovic made the Canadian national team under 20 and under 18 this year and he seemed very well during his international outings.
He will also join Hage in the NCAA with the Wolverines of the University of Michigan in 2025-26, just like Michael Spence.
But now Hage must focus on gaining more mass and in a text by Stu Cowan, we learn that his assistant coach is very impressed by his progress at the gym this summer.
Rob Rassey, the associate coach at Michigan, says that Michael Hage has been working out hard at the gym to add some muscle this summer:

“To see what he has done in the past eight weeks -and with eight other weeks to do in the dead season -I think he will be a physically different player next year. ” – Rob Rassey
When a coach is impressed by your work, it’s always positive.
Hage could very well cross the 200 pounds for the next season and it would be more than beneficial for him.
He could start to establish himself as a leading center in the NCAA, with a lot of talent, but above all, an imposing template.
And having a good template helps make the transition to the pros, especially in the NHL.
We know that the NHL will not be for the right -hander center, which must have another season in the NCAA and possibly another in Laval before making the jump.
The fact remains that Hage is definitely on the right track and he gives himself good arguments to become a second center with CH earlier than late.
I can’t wait to see his season with the Wolverines this year.

– Russo placed Cole Caufield before Lane Hutson as the best choice at the recovery of CH. Is it too early to place Hutson in front of Caufield at this level?
