Paleo FestivalMoictani: “It’s hard to take this with calm and serenity”
The 26-year-old Hispano-Swiss will perform this Tuesday at the Tent club. If she is delighted to be at the Paléo Festival, she finds it impressive.
Passing through our premises, Moictani entrusted us with his impressions before the festivals.
20min – François MelilloAfter a visit to Montreux Jazz, Moictani will be at the Tent club this July 22, 2025. Tania Praz, his real name, had passed us at the beginning of the month. It is without eyeshadow that the 26-year-old Hispano-Swiss told us about the idea of performing in his two festivals. She also told us about her new EP, “Mi Coche Azul”, released on May 9.
After the Montreux Jazz, you will perform in Paléo. What is it?
I admit that I did not necessarily think I would go there soon. It’s pretty impressive! I was more familiar with the places at Montreux Jazz because I worked a lot as a volunteer. Paléo, I went there less, even if I did the week once in my life by being younger. These are big names, even if we try to say that it is a scene like any other. With the group, we will offer what we usually do anyway. But it is also difficult to take this with calm and serenity. I am delighted, but in real life, I don’t really know what to expect. I have no doubt that it will be great!
What can the public be expected that will come to see you?
Frankly, I remain faithful to myself. We have prepared a new set with the release of the EP, a show that we are already playing at other festivals. But I think he can expect authenticity, really a lot of energy on stage, a lot of fun. Me, I just want to like people!
If the public had to remember only a message from your concert, would you like it to be which one?
Frankly, I would like people to leave just with a smile, that they let off steam and that they are just happy! And let them tell themselves that they can do what they want, that you have to try. I think it’s also something that I try to communicate. I remain super authentic during my concerts. Even when I speak between the songs, I am me. I do not create a character and remain faithful to myself, so be faithful to yourself and do what you want to do.
Speaking of being yourself, you say that your EP, “Mi Coche Azul”, allowed you a scenic release. Explain to us.
It is a lot related to another project called “tendonitis” that I started a year and a half ago with my colleague Camille. For once, it is only spectacle: reggaeton sung in French and Spanish with mega-autotune. These concerts are almost a play. This project was hyper liberating. It produces a click at home: I am also like that in everyday life, so I will also do it in my own project, this more thing let go.
What were your inspirations?
In truth, I always work in a fairly spontaneous way when I write songs, in the sense that I do not necessarily have ideas at the base. The subjects that come to me can be mega boats. I like to talk about the stupid things of life as in “Pan Con Tomato”, things that have no meaning and are completely absurd. Afterwards, he can also have a little more intimate subjects, like on my grandpass in “Papel Manos”. I like this mixture between something very intimate, a little intense, and absolutely absurd stuff.
