Montreux Jazz FestivalFujii Kaze Bluffe Le Public Du Casino
The 28 -year -old Japanese proposed an hour -long set mixing his titles, an unprecedented and a cover of Amy Winehouse. Festival -goers were won over.
Fujii Kaze unveiled an unprecedented title, “Love Like This” during his Casino show.
Youtube/screenshotWhen Fujii Kaze introduced himself to the Casino public, he implied that people had not come for him. “Hi, my name is Finneas O’Connell (Editor’s note: Billie Eilish’s brother performed in the second part of the evening),” said the 28 -year -old Japanese. And to add that having almost the same age they are “almost the same”. In just over an hour, we had several proofs that he was mistaken. There were many in the room to be there for him. We tell you.
About ten minutes before the concert start, the casino is already full. In the crowd, we even see t-shirts with the dates of the European tour of Fujii Kaze. At 8:31 p.m., the lights drop and the musicians – a drummer, a guitarist and a bass player are present. It is with an instrumental intro that the show begins. The public is directly captivated. When Fujii Kaze arrives and moved to the synth, it shouts in the room. Telephones come out everywhere. The atmosphere is launched and will not go back down.
The singer offers a mix of his titles. Some are entirely in Japanese, others contain words in English. In these moments, we even hear people in the crowd sing. On “Damn”, Fuji Kaze even looked surprised to hear them. And when the public cannot sing in choir, he does not hesitate to move to the rhythm of music. It must be said that the rhythm is wrestling and that its musicians are super talented: the drummer’s performance particularly amazed us.
A quality final
His title “Workin ‘Hard” particularly marked us. He put a slap on the intro by launching into a saxophone solo. It was then a J-Pop Vibe with R&B keys that settled in the casino. All accompanied by a set of lights. As if he had thought of those who did not know him, Fujii Kaze then embarked on a resumption of “Love is a Losing Game” by Amy Winehouse. A parenthesis that the public validated with pleasure. “Ha, that we know,” we heard behind us.
Impossible for us not to mention the final. The Japanese launched himself on “Hachiko”, his single released on June 13, 2025. And there, we can not tell you anything more except that the artist simply lives music. He begins by playing the synth, leaning backwards. Then remove the microphone from his base to walk around from one end of the scene. He dances and interacts with festival -goers. In the public, there are also many of us forbidden.
It is 9:30 p.m. when he leaves the scene. “Fuck!” He’s too cool, ”said a girl in front of us to her boyfriend. Frankly, we agree. For our first J-Pop concert, we are convinced. The proof when he left, we thought it was almost too short.
