Music Publishers Canada (MPC) is proud to announce the seven talented author-compositors-producers selected for the 2025 edition of its Women in the Studio National Accelerator designed to support the professional development of music producers from across the country.
Now for its seventh year, this training program offers producers a series of sessions and targeted workshops focused on improvement, as well as networking opportunities with leaders in the music industry who, otherwise, might have been inaccessible to them. The accelerator is intended for career producers who already produce for others, and gives them access to the skills and essential contacts to take a new step in their professional career.
Forty producers have already completed the program, and Music Publishers Canada is proud to invest in this community and see, each year, the collaborations and professional relations which arise thanks to the program.
The cohort 2025 of Women in the Studio Accelerator is composed of:

“Only six percent of the songs you hear are produced by women,” said Margaret McGuffin, chief executive officer of Music Publishers Canada. “This program is a cornerstone of our work in Music Publishers Canada – this is how we concretely contribute to the change in our industry. We look forward to supporting the participants in their learning and evolution in the coming months. »»
Music Publishers Canada remains resolved to advance this change and promote greater fairness within the music industry. The 2025 edition of the accelerator will take place online from June to October, and will include a week of residence in person in Toronto in July. Throughout the program, the participants will take part in a series of workshops on various subjects, including technical skills and writing songs, brand image and financial literacy. They will also have opportunities to collaborate in a creative level and to network with key professionals from the musical and creative industries. As part of this experience, each participant also undertook to explore the possibilities of volunteering within their own community.
The accelerator is made possible thanks to the generous support of the RBC Foundation, Factor/Government of Canada, and creative Ontario. Music Publishers Canada also would like to thank its Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Compass Rose Group sponsors.
