Navigation with tense flows for the LNM, after dozens of cancellations
The company deleted 76 races in three months, but resumes normal service. It provides for a new loss of 700,000 francs.

The start of the LNM season was chaotic. The navigation company on the lakes of Neuchâtel and Morat eliminated 57 races between May and June, due to asbestos removal work on two boats, and still bifted 19 relations this month of July, notes «ArcInfo». These recent cancellations, sometimes at the last moment, concerned in particular Links to Yverdon-les-Bains and Estavayer-le-Lac.
The reason? Two captains have been absent for illness – one intoxicated and the other injured on the back – replied the director Peter Vets, but they have since resumed the work. In addition, minor failures occurred on several boats. Suffering from a lack of chronic investment, the company operates with tense flows according to its manager.
The LNM counts on the reinforcement of a retired captain and another external to complete the workforce in the event of absence, especially since the head of the captains is on long -term sick leave, recalls the Neuchâtel daily.
If the navigation company recorded an increase in ticket sales compared to the same period of last year, it rely on a financial loss of 700,000 francs in 2025 given the canceled races.
Exercise 2024 Was marked by a large deficit of 770,000 francs and attendance at 7%, with 214,000 passengers transported. Above all, the staff – 24 employees – had demonstrated in March their exhaustion and his loss of confidence. In response, the LNM announced the commitment of three additional full -time positions, the adjournment of the renovation of the Fribourg and the purchase of an electric ship.
