New test | Mondraker Level 2026: to see (very) Grand ⋆ Vojo

Mondraker returns with a new Enduro VTTAE: Level. Flagship model of the Spanish brand, it is renewed in 2025 with 170 mm/180 mm of travel and the latest Bosch Performance CX engine. This aluminum “Super Enduro” sees even larger than Crafty, the bestseller in the VTTAE range.

The Mondraker Level is equipped with the last Bosch engine (100 Nm of torque with the last update) and a removable battery of 800 Wh (with the possibility of adding an extender range of 250 Wh). For this large bike, Mondraker opts for a mule mounting (29 inches in front and 27.5 behind).

All models will be equipped with a battery of 800 Wh Bosch, but it is possible to install a 600 Wh model on the same interface.

One of the latest news in the level is the integration of the Kiox 400 screen into the upper tube of the RR and XR models. The TFT Color screen automatically adjusts its brightness depending on the ambient light. As you climb, you can follow up to six data fields simultaneously, and downhill, the display is simplified to show only a large indication of speed. The Kiox 400 also incorporates a USB-C load port, delivering up to 10 W to power your devices. The screen is part of the Bosch Smart System ecosystem and is fully customizable via the Ebike Flow application. The Mondraker Level R is equipped with the “System Controller” integrated into the upper tube, associated with a Purion 400 screen mounted on the handlebars.

Geometry

Level is now available in five sizes, with the addition of a M/L size. The brand continues to decline its “Foward Geometry” which is characterized by bicycles with long reachs and short posts. The length of the bases evolves depending on the sizes to keep the proportionality of the bicycle and a good balance, regardless of the pilot size:

  • 445 mm for sizes S, M and ML
  • 455 mm for sizes L and XL

A flip-chip is now installed on the bicycle to offer two positions: high or bass. Delivered in high position, the bike is more responsive and offers more floor clearance for pedaling. This position is recommended by the brand for slow, tight and technical sectors.

In the low position, the crankset box drops by 5 mm and the steering angle is reduced by 0.35 °. For the brand, cand position allows better Stability at high speed by placing the front wheel further.

According to Mondraker, Level also benefits from an improved version of the baptized suspension system “Zero suspension” for more sensitivity at the start of the race, an optimized absorption of shocks and better traction in climb. To do this, the rear triangle was designed more compact and the shock absorber repositioned lower and flat, lowering the center of gravity for increased stability.

The Mondraker Level 2025 – 2026 range

The new level of the level is available in three different models: Level R, Level RR and Level XR. All are based on a brand new Stealth aluminum frame, associated with the same engine and the same battery. The structure of the range remains faithful to the spirit of the previous generation with generous travel VTTAEs which offer three different suspensions assemblies:

  • Level R : suspensions RockShox – 6999 €
  • Level RR : suspensions Fox – 8499 €
  • Level XR : suspensions Öhlins –  9999 €

New test | Mondraker Level RR

The Mondraker Level is revealed for the very first time during the Pass’portes du Soleil and its Salon des Gets. On the stand we discover the brand’s latest prototype, in raw aluminum, without its covers, but with many hours on the clock.

We are fortunate to climb on one of the very first production bikes, freshly assembled and arrived from the brand’s headquarters, which we were able to visit during the winter. We rush for four descents on the bike-park for a small grip, without too much climb to the program. While with 1m83, we usually tend to go to bikes in size L, it is the new M/L model which will be the best choice for us. This arrival in the range makes it possible to reposition every size and avoid being “between two”.

Second feeling is heavy. Obviously, with this “super enduro” in aluminum, we did not expect something else, but that is to take into account for the smallest templates when the weight announced on the site borders on 27 kilos. It is quite intimidating, however, from the first meters of descent, the bike does not seem monolithic and we manage to move the machine quite easily. The choice of a mullet assembly seems very about this type of bicycle and program. What bluff us from the first meters is the suspension that erases everything and seems completely free. Level develops a lot of travel and puts it in action for a descent bicycle feeling. You can push on the legs, with a very open steering angle that particularly puts confidence.

We find ourselves jumping quite easily, putting the angle in the turns of the bike-park and letting go of the brakes in the large braking areas. The bike cashes everything.

After two descents on the very typical bike-park slopes, we go on the “canyon” black track full of roots and steps. Same observation, the bike offers a lot of grip and tolerance. It is not necessarily the most precise, but it is very comfortable. When the terrain is slower and more flat, we feel that the bicycle slows down and that with its weight it does not particularly go to keep its speed. Too bad, the engine is there to relaunch us and we follow with disconcerting ease of the successions of steps and we hold the most scabrous dumps.

The new Mondraker Level did not steal its Super Enduro title. On his handlebars, we have sensations closer to those of a downhill bike with great stability, grip and travel. It will logically show its limits on slow and winding terrains or if you are looking for an All-Mountain companion. To exploit it, you need slope, speed and it will be your best companion, with an integrated lift.
