Samsung returns to the load with the latest version of its foldable flap smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Availability, price, new features, design, we summarize everything you need to know about this new mobile in our complete folder.

Samsung has managed to bring back the format of valve to the front of the stage with its Z Flip foldable range. This device has improved over the iterations, including an external screen much more useful than at the start, and a more reliable hinge to fold and unfold the screen. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will also bring its stone to the building, discover with us all the new features expected on the next model.
When will the Galaxy Z Flip 7 be available?
Samsung’s new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, will be presented at a Galaxy Unpacked conference which will take place at the beginning of summer. The date of July 9, 2025 has already been announced for the holding of this event, during which we should also see Galaxy Watch connected watches and Galaxy Buds wireless headphones. You can then count on an opening of pre -orders in the wake of the ad, and a marketing two weeks later. It would therefore lead us to a release on July 23.
How much is the Galaxy Z Flip 7?
After a price increase in 2024 with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, we can hope that Samsung does not increase the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. As a reminder, the 256 GB version cost 1 119 euros at the output and the configuration with 512 GB of storage was offered to 1 319 euros. Be careful all the same to unpleasant surprises, analysts fear that an increase in production costs will be passed on to the final price of the next high -end Samsung smartphones.
A cheaper galaxy z flip fe?
This year, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be accompanied by a more entry -level Galaxy Z Flip Fe. It would take up several technical characteristics of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, especially in terms of design and display, while the Z Fold 7 will have the right to improvements in the matter. The Z Fold Fe (for Fan Edition) would also be equipped with a less efficient chip (an exynos 2400?) As the Z Fold 7 and less Ram (8 GB against 12 GB). These compromises should make it possible to lower the price of this device and make foldable technology more affordable for the general public.
Larger screens?
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 should be a little longer, and above all wider, than the Galaxy Z Flip 6, for a thickness that would be equal. Dimensions of 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9 mm are mentioned, against 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm for its predecessor. This size gain would be due to the integration of larger screens, both for the main display for the cover.
The main screen would drop from 6.7 to 6.85 inches. As the greater increase in width indicates than the height of the device, the internal slab ratio will necessarily evolve. We should thus get closer to a 22: 9.5 format, less elongated than the 22: 9 of the Z Flip 6. The higher screen diagonal is also permitted by a reduction in the edges around the screen. The screen-body ratio could exceed 90 % on this new model, while it revolves around 85 % on the old generation. Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X technology with adaptive refresh frequency up to 120 Hz will return. The brightness will be at least 2,600 nits in peak.
The dorsal screen, useful for obtaining information or performing some manipulations without having to unfold the mobile, will also grow. Samsung was somewhat forced to make efforts for this secondary display given the rapid advances made by competition in this area. We think in particular of the Motorola Razr 60 whose external screen has appreciated in our test. Of the 3.4 inches of the Galaxy Z Flip, we would be entitled to 4 inches on the Z Flip 7, which should make its use more comfortable.
Otherwise, the Z Flip 7 will keep most of its design, with flat slices and a hinge that allows the smartphone to bend in the same way as old valve phones. However, this could be improved in order to Reduce the trace of folds on the screen. We can also hope that a new hinge will make it possible to obtain better sealing certification. The IP48 is sufficient for water resistance, but suggests flaws in front of debris and dust. An IP68 index would be likely to reassure consumers.
Performances delivered by a Samsung chip?
The information about the chip that will propel the Galaxy Z Flip 7 varies from week to week. Elements suggested that one would be entitled to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite in Europe, and that the Exynos 2500 designed by the semiconductor division of Samsung would be reserved for the South Korean market. But the most recent reliable leak, from the Leaker Jukanlosrevepoint towards the integration of an Exynos 2500 house SOC on all models of Z Flip 7.
Report: Galaxy Z Flip7 to Fully Adopt Exynos as a ‘Bold Move’
Samsung Electronics appears highly likely to fully equip the Galaxy Z Series Flip7 with its proprietary mobile application processor (AP), Exynos 2500. While internal concerns about yield rates and performance… pic.twitter.com/hEyovfGVFP

The Exynos 2500 had been failed to equip the Galaxy S25 and S25+ European because of an overly low production return. A few months later, Samsung may have managed to improve this point. The Z Flip 7 is much less sold as the Galaxy S25 and is not subject to the same production issues. That being said, we can regret the absence of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. We do not officially know the characteristics and performances of the Exynos 2500, but they should not be up to those of the Soc of Qualcomm, which has taken ahead of Samsung in recent years.
According to a benchmark made on geekbench, the Exynos 2500 has a CPU with a heart clocked at 3.30 GHz, two others at 2.75 GHz, five to 2.36 GHz and two with energy saving at 1.80 GHz. The GPU would be a Samsung Xclipse 950 designed with AMD, based on the RDNA 3 architecture. The Z Flip 7 has obtained a single-core score of 2,012 and a multi-core score of 7,563. This is below what the Galaxy S25 offers Snapdragon 8 Elite. A more recent benchmark of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 displays a 2,356 single-core score and 8,076 in multi-core. We can hope that optimizations can improve performance by the outlet.

Skylo company, a satellite communication network operator, leaned that the Exynos 2500 would take care of the 3GPP NTN connectivity, This would allow the Galaxy Z Flip 7 to communicate urgently by call or SMS without access to the mobile network, by connecting to a network of satellites in low orbit. However, it is likely that this feature, if it is confirmed, be very limited, and that we cannot benefit from it in France.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected with 12 Go de RAM LPDDR5Xlike his predecessor. It has become the minimum on the high -end to properly run the functions of AI locally. It will be available in two UFS 4.0 storage configurations: 256 and 512 GB.
A greater battery capacity, for better autonomy?
Samsung has clearly identified that one of the problems in this range of mobiles was autonomy. The Z Flip 6 is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery, against 3,700 mAh for the Z Flip 5. An increase in similar capacity is expected for the Galaxy Z Flip, whose accumulator would have a capacity of 4,300 mAh. It is starting to be very interesting, and we can anticipate an increase up on this new model, which was already correct on the current version. It is all the more likely that the chip and the screen should be more effective from an energy point of view.

Charge speed is one of the weak points of all Samsung smartphones. Chinese competition is much more advanced in the matter, and it is not the Galaxy Z Flip 7 which should change the situation. We wait for the same load power of 25 W per cable and 15 W wireless that on the Z FLIP 6. The support for the Qi 2 standard should be there, but without compatibility with magnetism.
No major improvements for the camera
The photo part of the smartphone should only evolve. The information available so far suggests that Samsung will recycle the configuration of the Z Flip 6 for this Z Flip 7. It is hardly surprising, knowing that the current model had already received a 50 MP wide-angle sensorreplacing the 12 MP module from previous generations. An ultra-wide-angle optics of 12 MP should complete the camera at the back, which does not enjoy any telephoto lens. A 10 MP front camera is expected for selfies. Samsung wants to reduce costs as much as possible on this device to control prices, the Z Flip 7 will clearly be the photophone of the year.
The first Samsung smartphone under Android 16
Samsung has confirmed that one UI 8, its software overlay based on Android 16, will be preinstalled on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The foldable smartphone will therefore benefit from the latest version as soon as it is released. The update provides optimizations and improvements in the interface and animations introduced with one UI 7, as well as new AI functions. The manufacturer promises seven years of Android updates and safety fixes on its high -end mobiles.
Just over a week from the formalization of Galaxy Z Flip 7 of new indiscretions confirm for the most part the robot portrait of the device presented in this file. Hopefully Samsung still keep a few surprises for its launch event.
