Noyades in the Bahamas: two different cruise passengers lose life in a few hours

Two American passengers who were traveling aboard different Crosise Line cruises lost their lives by drowning in the space of a few hours on Friday, on a private island belonging to the company.

“Our rescuers and our medical team intervened on Friday on two distinct emergency incidents at Celebration Key: one in the lagoon and the other on the beach. Unfortunately, the two passengers died, “said the Carnival cruise line by press release, according to” ABC News “on Sunday.

In the space of only a few hours, the private complex belonging to the company, which would not have opened its doors until last July, became the scene of two tragedies, while two passengers have lost their lives by drowning, the American media reported.

Indeed, shortly before noon, Friday, the Royal Police Force of the Bahamas had been called the first time for a 79 -year -old man found unconscious when he was “diving with snorkel on a beach,” the police force said by press release.

“A lifeguard rescued him and administered him a cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but in vain. Consequently, the death of the man of American nationality was noted by a doctor, “said the police in writing.

Except that, shortly after, around 2:30 p.m., a second incident was reported to the local police, this time in a swimming pool of the complex where a 74-year-old American was found without knowledge in turn and extirpated water by another lifeguard.

Despite the same resuscitation maneuvers, his death would also have been noted.

“An autopsy will be performed on both victims to help determine the exact cause of death. The investigation continues in both cases, “said the Royal Police Force of the Bahamas.

According to the company, the two victims traveled with their respective families aboard two different ships, Tuesday fat and Carnival Elation.
