In Obernai, according to our information, this is a case of dengue. Problem: this disease is transmitted by the bites of tiger mosquitoes. However, this species, whose presence has been established in a lasting way since 2022 in the city and which stings during the day, currently proliferates thanks to the recent rains.
The Regional Health Agency therefore decided on a demoustication operation on the night of Thursday, August 8 to Friday, August 8.
“The intervention consists of an insecticide spraying by a vehicle from the public highway, supplemented if necessary by targeted interventions using portable devices in the outdoor spaces of private and public properties. This treatment applies to a limited area and the theoretical duration is an hour, ”says an ARS document.
She did not specify in which district “so as not to panic the population”, explains the city, which plans to communicate this Thursday. The operation must be carried out on a diameter of 300 meters to be effective.
The residents concerned were normally informed.
This is the first case of tropical disease leading to a demoustication operation in the region of Obernai and Molsheim.
