In 1980, 180 copies of this model were produced, “but most were sold abroad, because in Switzerland, we used smaller tractors”, specifies the Montfaucon farmer, who remembers having seen these models during his childhood: “At the time, we were all impressed in the face of their size.”
Pierre-André Gigon is also passionate about ancient tractors, whom he has enjoyed refurbishing. This weekend he exhibited five vehicles from the 1960s this weekend. “At the time, there was no electronics, that mechanics! But it was enough to have a little resourcefulness and one could repair and maintain the machines. Today with electronics, it is much more complicated,” he said.
Not only for decoration
While some are enjoying restoring old tractors to exhibit them, many vehicles are still usable, and used today. Like that of François Frésard: “In daily life, we use smaller models, but we can use it for major work, there is everything you need,” he says.
