A collision between a train and an agricultural vehicle in Denmark left one dead and several injured, the police announced on Friday, without specifying the seriousness of these injuries.
(Keystone-ATS) “One person died and several were injured in a train accident near Bjerndrup” in the southwest of the country, police wrote in a statement.
The collision took place at a level crossing which was not marked by a barrier, said a police official Gert Bisgaard during a press conference.
Two people were transported by helicopter to hospitals, he added without further details on their condition.
The accident, the exact cause of which is the subject of a survey, implies a rapid train and an agricultural vehicle which was carrying a slurry.
According to the images broadcast in the local media, at least two cars of the train which connected Copenhagen to Sønderborg derailed and were in a field.
According to the DSB railway company, which operated the train, a hundred people were on board, including some 25 students from a Sønderborg school, noted the press.
“None of the students was seriously injured (…) but they are of course shocked,” the municipality said in a statement.
