Didier Dubreucq, nicknamed “Didier The Blue Eyes”, died this Thursday, June 26. He appeared very weakened during the trial of the spectacular robbery of the American star.
Didier Dubreucq, one of the two main accused of Kardashian’s robbery trial in 2016, died on Thursday, June 26 in the morning, learned BFMTV from a source close to the file, confirming AFP information.
Nicknamed “Didier The Blue Eyes”, the 69 -year -old man suffered from lung cancer and had appeared very weakened before the Paris Assize Court.
During the trial, he alternated audiences with his chemotherapy sessions. He had nevertheless wanted to be present during his interrogation but was absent from the statement of the verdict because he was hospitalized. Didier Dubreucq had been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment, two years of which were firm, covered by pre -trial detention.
“I have nothing to do”
He was suspected of being one of the two robbers mounted in the hotel room of the American billionaire, on the night of October 2 to 3, 2016, in order to steal his jewelry.
But, throughout the duration of the trial, the man had denied his participation in the “break of the century”, repeating that he had “nothing to do” with the alleged facts. After having already spent 20 years behind bars for business of organized crime, Didier Dubreucq had, he assured, cut the bridges with this environment for several years.
“There is an error on the person, unlike the appearances of the file, I have nothing to do,” he insisted during one of his interrogation in front of the Assize Court on May 16.
Absent on the last day of the trial, before the jurors withdrew to deliberate, Didier “blue eyes” had sent a word to the courtyard through his lawyer. “I am totally foreign to the facts which are criticized for me. I never, in the big one, participated in this theft of jewelry. (…) We do not sacrifice a man on the altar of doubt,” he wrote before addressing wishes for appeasement with regard to Kim Kardashian and the night watchman, also victim of robbery.
