Unless you live in a cave or arrive from March, it is very likely that you have heard of the famous “Kiss Cam” lately. On July 16 in Boston, at the Coldplay concert, the boss of Astronomer Andy Byron and the HR Kristin Cabot was surprised in the embarrassed stands like a couple… adultery.
A story of infidelity in business – already the most viral of the year 2025 – which is far from being an isolated case, as shown by the testimonies collected by 20 Minutes.
“We were the last two never to come back”
Nina* has been in a relationship for five years when she started working in the banking sector in Switzerland. “I had met my boyfriend in the first year of studies, we have lived at a distance for two years,” she explains. For her first post in permanent contract, she discovers “a very good team cohesion, a lot of atmosphere, evenings, travel”. Among his colleagues, there is Gaël*. She is 22 years old, he 26.
She notices it for the first time during a trip to Serbia, organized without the spouses. “He was the only party party for the team, so we often found ourselves the last two. It was conducive to rapprochement, ”she says. One evening, “we danced a lot, then we kissed and we spent the night together”.
Despite guilt, history is repeated during the many evenings they make together. The adventure lasts several months without the colleagues knowing it. The young woman specifies: “There was no game of seduction between us at work, we were barely talking. It was only outside the office ”. The relationship continues because “my colleague, I saw him much more than my boyfriend,” recalls Nina.
This extramarital relationship reveals a problem in his couple. “I had felt for a long time that we were on the descending slope, but I was in denial and I did not have the courage to stop.” The deception was the click to leave her companion, and a few months later, Nina stood with … another colleague.
“He told me he was unhappy”
For Noémie*, the story will end less well. Working in the sale, the one who is now thirty -something has long resisted the advances of a charming colleague. She remembers, “It was my first job after my psychology studies. He was 40 years old, me fifteen less. It was said of him that he was fickle even if he had a girlfriend ”. The young woman will discover during their story that he is actually married, father of two children, and that his wife is pregnant with a third. “He admitted things to me little by little,” she regrets.
Weekends with accomplices colleagues, daytime hotels, daily night calls while his wife sleeps, declaration of love, Noémie* ended up falling in love. To justify his infidelity, “he told me that he was unhappy, that I was the only one to understand him and that he no longer shared anything with his wife”.
Significant consequences
But after ten months, the wife discovers the lie, confronts her husband who admits everything to her. She goes to Noémie’s workplace*. “A lady about ten years older than me goes into the shop and heads for me, upset. I took a few seconds to realize who she was, ”explains Noémie. Embers up, she avoids discussion, hoping that her lover divorces. He makes the opposite decision: he chooses his family. Today, the young woman keeps the memory of a strong but destructive relationship. “It was a little crazy thing. With hindsight, I should have seen the signs ”. The rupture was painful, for both. “It took me a long time to recover from this year of relationship”.
Christophe*, he made several road trips in his long relationship of six years. In order not to get caught, the young man, originally from Savoy, applies a simple rule: do not deceive at work. But one evening, he failed in his rule. “It was during the annual ball. We finished in the box, I returned with the director of the airport in which I worked, ”he says, saying that she did not know that she was her superior.
For him, this adventure had consequences. “She wanted us to see each other again,” said me several times. A blurred situation that can quickly weigh. Christophe* assures him, he is not the only one: “During the evenings, it’s hot between colleagues”. The problem ? “The festive context, alcohol, all box events”. Nina* confirms it: “It was not the afterworks who made me cheat. But if there hadn’t been any, it would never have happened. ”
