Glory day for French cycling! After nine days of racing, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt won the fourth edition of the Tour de France Women, Sunday August 3, upon arrival of the 9th and last stage in Châtel (Haute-Savoie). The Visma-Lease a Bike runner had recovered the yellow jersey at the best time, after her coup on Saturday and her victory at the top of the legendary Madeleine pass. And to afford one of the greatest joys of her career, the 33 -year -old Rémoise went through all the emotions, between a fright at the start of the day, and this second consecutive victory, in patron, and with the most beautiful tunic on the shoulders.
A year after its first Olympic Title in Cross-Country mountain biking won on Elancourt hill in Paris, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt War the first Tour de France women in her career, for her first participation, when she had given herself three years to get there.

And yet, the day had particularly started with Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt. If she expected to see the last two holders of the title switch to the attack as soon as they have the opportunity, she did not think she is trapped from the first descent, at 110 Km of Châtel, on an almost trivial race movement. Posted at the peloton tail, the tricolor yellow jersey could not take the train at the right time and quickly saw the gap, with half a vollering and kasia niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM)climb around 30 seconds.
More fear than harm, because the tricolor mountain biker has never panicked. And of course, “PFP” was able to quickly count on the entire Visma-Lease A Bike, the first yellow jersey of this 2025 edition, Marianne Vos, included. After a lot of work on a dozen terminals, the Dutch formation managed to bring back its golden tunic within the group of other favorites while the FDJ-Suez had tried to print a big tempo. In vain, since Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt was then never set out again.

Not being the type to repeat the same tactical error twice, the French champion has always remained, until the arrival at the Porte du Soleil, in the half-vollering wheels, of Katarzyna Niewiadoma or even of Sarah Gigante (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) before the Australian cracks in the descent of Joux Plane. The strips posed here and there by the first two, in the demanding Col Haut-Savoyard in particular, have never worried Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt who even offered a second success in two days, after a lightning attack within 7 km of the finish.
Eleven years after her title of world champion on the road acquired in Spain, she became the first Frenchwoman to win the Tour de France women since the Renaissance of the event in the summer of 2022, and the first since Catherine Marsal, in 1990, in the old version (under the name of the Tour of the Women’s EEC).
In the final general classification, it is ahead of Demi Vollering (2nd to 3’42 ”), crowned in 2023, and the outgoing Polish winner, Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon-Sram, 3rd to 4’09 ”). The last proof, if it was still one, to register once and for all Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt in the legend of cycling.
